Privacy notice
This notice covers the Janus Insights public website and authenticated client assessment platform.
Information we collect
On the public website, Janus Insights may collect information you voluntarily submit through contact forms, including your name, work email, company, role, area of interest and message. The free trial assessments run in your browser and do not require an account or email; trial responses are not sent to Janus unless you choose to contact us and include a result.
In the authenticated client platform, we may process account information, sponsor and portfolio-company profile information, assessment responses, scores, rationale, confidence ratings, invited participant details, uploaded evidence, findings, validation commentary and action-plan information that authorized users choose to provide.
How we use information
We use this information to operate secure client workspaces, provide and improve assessments and advisory services, respond to inquiries, administer subscriptions, support users, generate agreed reporting, and maintain appropriate business and security records.
Service providers
Janus Insights uses service providers to operate the website and platform. The pilot architecture uses Supabase for authentication, database and private evidence storage; Stripe for hosted checkout and subscription billing; and hosting/infrastructure providers for the Janus website and application. Stripe collects payment-card details directly; Janus stores subscription references and entitlement status rather than card data.
Client assessment and evidence data
Authenticated platform data is restricted by workspace and role. Evidence files are stored in a private bucket and the application issues short-lived access links after authorization checks. Users should upload only information they are authorized to share with Janus and the other authorized participants in their assigned workspace.
Retention and deletion
We retain inquiry, account and client-workspace information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet contractual and legal obligations, maintain appropriate records, and resolve disputes. Retention requirements may differ by client engagement. Clients may contact Janus to discuss correction, export or deletion requests, subject to contractual and legal requirements.
Cookies and analytics
The public site does not use advertising cookies by default. Janus uses a first-party analytics layer to understand site usage, assessment conversion and how visitors interact with the Janus AI assistant. It creates a random browser visitor identifier and a temporary session identifier, records page and conversion events, and may retain the text of questions submitted to the public AI assistant so Janus can improve website content, assessments and visitor support. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the Janus analytics dataset. Analytics records are designed to be retained for approximately 90 days. The authenticated application uses session technologies necessary to sign users in and maintain secure access.
Security
Janus applies access controls and application safeguards intended to protect client information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
AI assistant
When you use the Janus website AI assistant, your message and limited recent conversation context are sent to the configured language-model provider to generate a response. The public assistant is designed for questions about Janus Insights services and assessments and is not a secure channel for client information. Do not submit confidential, personal, regulated or other sensitive information. The assistant may use local browser storage to preserve recent conversation state on your device. Janus may also retain the question text, an automatically assigned topic or lead-signal category, and related conversion events in its first-party analytics dataset to improve the website and understand visitor needs. Transient technical identifiers may be processed for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
